You’ll feel the difference with propane heat in your Missouri home.

More folks in Missouri are finding that propane heating—whether it’s a high-efficiency furnace, fireplace or space heater—is a smart and affordable way to stay warm during cold and icy winters.

Every day, people are either “pulling the plug” completely on their electric heaters—or bringing in the cozy warmth of propane backup heat—whether it’s a furnace, fireplace or room heater. Propane home heating systems are a smart investment because they can generally keep your home warm for less than the cost of electricity, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

But what Missourians like the most is the comfortable, consistent heat that’s delivered. Propane heaters produce much higher indoor air temperatures than their electric counterparts, guaranteeing that you will keep your home toasty warm even during the most frigid winters.

Propane Heating Options

Propane Furnaces
Propane furnaces offer great flexibility in both the type and capacity of the equipment, which makes them a good fit for any type of home. High-efficiency propane furnaces with efficiency levels above 90 percent AFUE capture additional heat from the combustion gasses and use this to increase the heat transfer of the furnace for greater efficiency. Many high-efficiency propane furnaces are two-stage or variable speed units, so the furnace heats the home steadily and comfortably. And the heated air leaving the furnace is significantly warmer than temperatures offered by electric heat pumps.

Propane Fireplaces
Propane-powered fireplaces provide comfort, ambiance and convenience, in addition to high-efficiency heating for homes, buildings and outdoor spaces. A variety of inserts available make converting to propane easy and almost any desired fireplace design achievable.

Space Heaters
Propane space heaters can be freestanding or wall-mounted, can include thermostats and blowers, and typically work even in an electrical outage. They also produce fewer greenhouse gases than space heaters using fuel oil.

Boilers
Propane boilers can serve a home’s space heating and hot water needs with high-efficiency levels, reliable systems, and versatile designs. They can be categorized as either condensing or non-condensing types, with condensing units having higher efficiency ratings. In space heating applications, these boilers can work in conjunction with a number of heating delivery systems, including hydronic baseboard systems, in-floor hydronic systems, or even forced-air systems where the hot water from the boiler (instead of a furnace) acts as the heat source.

Radiant Floor Heating
A propane water heater or boiler heats water that is pumped through a floor tubing system. By delivering an even heat, and more heat closer to the floor, these systems can be far more energy-efficient than a conventional furnace-and-duct system.
