Hazmat Training
The hazardous materials regulations require that each HM employee be trained and tested within 90 days of employment. In addition, each employer must certify that their employees received Hazmat training every three years.
The regulations require that the training included general awareness and familiarization training, function-specific training, security awareness, in-depth security, and safety training. Training must include editorial changes and amendments that have been made to the regulations. CDL Hazardous Materials Endorsement does not satisfy the training requirement. Failure to comply with this regulation may result in civil penalties of up to $27,500, but not less than $275 per day. To assist propane marketers and personnel with this regulation, the Missouri Propane Gas Association is sponsoring the Hazmat Propane Specific seminar. This class is designed specifically for propane industry owners, CEOs, safety directors, driver trainers, office personnel, and personnel involved in shipping and transporting hazardous materials.
