Celebrate the People Behind the Bus

A safe, dependable trip to school starts long before a bus pulls away from the curb. It depends on drivers who earn students’ and families’ trust, and mechanics whose expertise keeps propane school buses ready for every route.

The Propane & Proud Award honors exceptional professionals serving Missouri school districts. We invite school leaders, coworkers, parents, community members and propane industry partners to nominate a driver or mechanic whose dedication deserves to be recognized.

Award Details

Award Amount: up to $200 value

Selection and Presentation: The MOPERC Award Committee will select 10 recipients during the MOPERC Winter Board Meeting in January 2027. Each recipient’s school district transportation director will be notified shortly afterward to coordinate the award presentation.

Who Can Be Nominated?

Missouri Propane School Bus Drivers
Nominate a driver who demonstrates safe driving, dependable service, care for students and pride in representing their school district.

Missouri Propane School Bus Mechanics
Nominate a mechanic whose knowledge, preparation and commitment to safety help keep the district’s propane bus fleet reliable. Mechanic nominees must hold certification received from ROUSH CleanTech.

Important: You may not nominate yourself or a family member.

What You’ll Need

Before beginning the nomination, gather the following information:

  • Nominee’s full name, school district, position or title, relevant years of service, and approx. number of students transported daily or mechanic certification from Roush CleanTech
  • Safety record
  • Reason(s) the nominee deserves the Propane & Proud Award, including specific examples when possible
  • Nominator’s name and contact information
  • Any additional supporting documents
